Steel is lighter than lead pellet for pellet, so Apex moves the sizes up to #6 and #7 to put back the energy the material gives away. Both sizes ride in the same 3/4oz payload, layered rather than mixed.

The #7 pellets keep the pattern populated for close birds and the #6 pellets carry the weight out to where a 20 gauge starts running thin.
