The Adams Arms Standard Picatinny Piston Kit for AR-15 Pistol Length from Adams Arms is designed to work with .223/5.56 x 45 mm NATO and provides a compact, reliable gas system upgrade for AR-15 platforms. The kit includes a patented one-piece bolt carrier, a .750 inch Picatinny gas block with three settings (full gas for standard fire, half gas for suppressed, no gas for single shot), a gas plug, bolt spring, drive rod with bushing and spring, and an Installation Instruction Card, and our piston kits no longer require the receiver bushing or installation dowel. The Adams Arms Piston System delivers a short stroke, free-floating piston that is self-cleaning, with carbon and gases expelled forward away from the operator and a corrosion-resistant coating process to withstand harsh conditions. Its design prevents harmonics from transferring into the barrel, while adjustable gas settings accommodate a variety of applications and ammunition. Notably, the system does not vent directly to atmospheric pressure, eliminating flash signature and the sonic crack—advantages that enhance night vision compatibility and suppressive performance.
