Hornady, Varmint Express, 17 Mach 2, Ntx, 15.5 Grain, 50 Rounds

The Hornady Varmint Express 17 Mach 2 NTX delivers a dedicated varmint round built around a 15.5 grain NTX projectile that reaches roughly 2,050 feet per second and about 149 foot?pounds of muzzle energy, giving shooters a flat?shooting, low?recoil option for long flirtations with prairie dogs, ground squirrels, and other small predators. As part of Hornady's Varmint Express line, this 17 Mach 2 offering combines a high ballistic coefficient for its class with consistent velocities that make range estimation and follow?up shots more manageable, which is useful whether you're dialing in a scoped varmint rifle at 150—250 yards or running precision drills on the berm. The NTX bullet profile helps retain accuracy downrange while promoting quick terminal response on small targets, making it a go?to for pest control and dedicated varmint excursions where repeatable performance matters. Shooters who value reliable ignition, tight groups, and a cartridge that bridges the gap between quiet plinking and effective field stopping power will find this Hornady option a practical addition to their shooting kit.
